Cochin - Cardamom Hills - Periyar - Spice Plantation - Kumarakom - A full day at leisure - Houseboat cruise - Cochin
You’ll meet Our executive at the airport. He will take you to the hotel and will make you get settled in your room. Rest of day is at leisure.
We’ll visit the 16th century Church of St. Francis, the Paradesi Synagogue in the heart of Cochin’s Jewish Town, the Mattancherry Palace, and the enormous cantilevered Chinese fishing nets characteristic of the Kerala coast.
Day 3: Cardamom Hills.
We’ll drive up the winding roads to the picturesque town of Munnar, located amongst tea plantations in the Cardamom Hills at 5.906ft. We’ll spend the afternoon here. Overnight stay at the resort.
We’ll drive down through coffee and pepper plantations to Periyar. In the Afternoon, we’ll go for a boat trip on Lake Periyar, a haven for birdlife, including herons, hornbills and egrets. There are also approximately 800 elephants in the Periyar Reserve.
Day5 : Spice Plantation.
We’ll visit the small spice plantation, where we will learn about the uses of the spices, both for medicine as well as local cuisine. The rest of the day is at leisure.
We’ll go by road to Kumarakom, where we’ll take a short boat ride. Overnight at the resort (B,D)
After breakfast we’ll board our private houseboats , cruising through the peaceful waters of Kerala and passing local farming and fishing communities . Each houseboat has two comfortable bedrooms . We’ll spend overnight on board
. In the morning we’ll drive back to Cochin. A farewell dinner will be arranged.
